Last week I sprayed out my first 'stab' at some raised planters I designed for a client. The planters are large, abstracted fleur-de-lis shapes to be made of steel. The two 18" tall planters loosely mimic the curved stone walls built, years ago, by Pete Wilson. We'll include topiary, a variety of foliage color and texture to further connect the entire entry from street to doorway. Other goals for this front garden include: adding overall structure with plants, building brick platforms for large pots at the top of the stairs and emphasizing the extraordinary maple and architecture of this historic home.
